Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for my Students We purchased this as a second unit to paint 50 sheets of 1/2 plywood that were assembled into individual cubicles for our school. Eight high school students were trained by other students to use this gun to paint 15 gallons of paint over a three week class time period. Meaning it was cleaned 15+ times and had 15+ startups. Only one student produced runs with the unit and all the rest were comfortable using it after 15-20 minutes of training. I am impressed as it used latex straight from the bucket and performed excellent with a one application coverage on raw wood. We normally use a primer however the students wanted to try it direct and it worked well. When we need a another gun, we'll buy this one again. The first unit was a Graco with the collapsible paint containers, works well, but very difficult to prime, extreme long clean up time and most students after trying both, loved the Wagner.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Works great once. I used this sprayer for one room when I first bought it. I cleaned the sprayer and put it away. It's been sitting for about a year. Well I need it again to paint the rest of my house, now all it does is "SPLATTER" paint on the walls. There is no smooth flow of pain, no matter what I do it will not flow smoothly from the nozzle. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. If you use it once fine, but don't let it sit it wont be the same again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Be very careful how you clean and store parts Sprayer works reasonably well, better if you thin latex a little first. My biggest problem with it is storage after cleanup. Generally I'm accustomed to disassembling the air cap and storing them submerged in appropriate solvent (water for latex) until next use. That's how I care for my automotive HVLP paint guns (made out of metal) and the approach works really well. However, as I just found out by surprise - if you use this gun with a solvent/oil based paint, don't try storing the plastic parts in the cup submerged in mineral spirits. The large ring that screws onto the painter body is made out of a material that will react with mineral spirits and will swell (or the white plastic ring will shrink - or both), making it impossible to reassemble the air cap the next time you want to use the gun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cabinets!, lots of cabinets. We purchased our dream retirement home in so. AZ 2 weeks ago and are busy making it our own. The first priority is to get the kitchen done. We have 60 cabinet faces and drawer fronts to paint; 60! Started out with using a roller and brush going nowhere fast. Spent a day on just 7 pieces. Decided to try a sprayer and bought the paint ready one which wasn't the one I was looking for but couldn't find the other well rated cheaper one, I have never used a sprayer before so have no biases one sprayer against another, however the Wagner name is front and center. It's been really hot here and trying to paint with un thinned latex is a challenge, the working time wasn't there. Reading a review I came across a thinner called Floetrol and decided to try it and it performs beautifully. I was spraying in 90*+ temps. We are using Behr ultra satin base. The paint pot on the sprayer is graduated and I settled on 35oz's of paint and added 5oz's of Floetrol to it. At that rate the paint flowed perfectly. I only had to wipe the front of the nozzle free of paint in between startups. It took some trial and error on test pieces to get familiar with the unit and find the desired flow rate adjustment, but once done it's set. Only 5-10 minutes cleanup which is a snap. We couldn't be happier with the resulting outcome of our work! It looks like a factory original/professionally done job. Best $100 bucks I've spent in a long time. Thank you Wagner! Tom D.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Need Mechanic to keep unclogged! The Wagner Paint Ready Sprayer saves time and works great for hard to reach areas to paint. I have fencing and a horse stable as long as my mechanic was with me to unclog it every three minutes we could keep it running. I have spent a majority of my summer trying to unclog this machine. The solution was to have my mechanic on stand by. The videos on line only tell you how to clean out part of the machine. The mechanic has to completely disassemble it to clean it. I have taken it to the Lowes Store and the sales associates do not understand what to do. Today I have spent another whole day of vacation fighting with this Wagner Paint Ready Sprayer. Unless my mechanic can come by tonight I am throwing it in the river. And in case anyone is wondering I do use Floetrol and read the directions carefully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time user I borrowed a Control Spray from a relative only to find it would not spray latex paint. I searched your website to find one that would. I chose the PaintReady. After reading the reviews I carefully read the instructions, twice. I took the sprayer apart to familiarize myself with it. I had a little trouble with spattering on the first 2 gallons. I ran out of paint and sent the wife after more and while she was gone I cleaned the sprayer. It took me longer to take it apart and clean it than it did to use the first 2 gallons of paint. I chalk that up to inexperience. The next 2 gallons went so smooth it scared me. Again experience helps. I would recommend this product to my friends. It saved me 12 hours at least over rolling.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good little sprayer I had good luck with this sprayer. I sprayed unthinned latex exterior paint. I had no issues with spray pattern. I think a lot of people that have bad luck either a) are expecting professional commercial results from a entry level $100 sprayer or b) don't read the directions and follow what it says. It's not a pull the trigger and go. You have to wait a few seconds for the turbine to start spinning, then release the paint. Also, it is stated that this sprayer will produce a textured spray similar to painting with a roller. So buying this sprayer for smooth finish projects is their own fault. Not the sprayers. Overall I'm pleased with the performance.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This product has many flaws!!! I bought this product knowing that it had many flaws, however I still need to get the painting done. After 3 months of owner ship and some adjustment on how it sprays paint everywhere the trigger broke and now it is on when I plug it in or off when it is unplugged. I cannot find a replacement trigger on the parts list and every time I call the 1-800-328-8251 no one answers.

I have two of these PaintReady Sprayers and they both do not spray well. I inspected them both and found hair line cracks on both tips of the nozzles. What would cause this? Did I over adjust the material flow adjustment to tight in the low position?

Asked by: jsie508
Cracks in the nozzle can be caused any number of ways. Usually its just worn out from usage and cleaning and will crack. Obviously dropping the sprayer or individual nozzle can do that. Cleaning too hard or even solvents can cause this. I doubt it was due to adjusting too low or too tight. Hard to say, but you can get more nozzles by ordering part number 2343747 online or from a dealer near you. For any further help you can contact our Technical Service at 800-328-8251. Thanks for contacting Wagner!

What setting should I use when spraying kitchen cabinet doors using Sherwin/Williams Prolassic Interior Acrylic latex paint? Do you recommend thinning this paint?

Asked by: mark8
First you need the detail finish front end for your sprayer. The iSpray front end is for general purpose painting like walls, decks and fences. The detail finish front end nozzle is for fine finishing like trim, doors and cabinets. Then, thin latex about 10% with water, spray from 6" away. Call us for that detail front end at 800-328-8251.

Is the Paint Ready sprayer capable of spraying polyurethane and similar clear coats?

Asked by: Icedog06
The Paint Ready can handle most water based and oil based finishes without issue. The iSpray front end nozzle is going to give you a roller like texture, but if you add the detail finish nozzle it will atomize better for polyurethane and provide a finer finish. The detail front end nozzle is part #0529013.

Finland Wagner W400 and W450 sold that could be suitable for painting my house outer walls. W400 manual say that it can spray paint up to 2.7 Pas, 2x pure glycerol thickness. Is that enough for outdoor paint & how they compare to newer models?

Asked by: ehaapani
The W400 and W450 will spray some latex paints but because they have a smaller container you may want to look at one of our airless sprayers at this link, https://www.wagner-group.com/en/consumer/airless-spray-systems/. We are in the United States but you can contact our dealer in Finland, their name is Tehomix Oy and their number in Turku is 358 (0) 2 2755 999.

In the instructions several time it refers to control of the air pressure. I can't find any way to control air pressure on my Paintready sprayer.Where is the control?

Asked by: perplexed
Sorry about the confusion but it was accidentally misprinted in your manual. There is no pressure or power control on the PaintReady sprayer. Though it does have the material flow control on the back of the trigger for adjusting how much material is flowing out of the machine. Please contact our technical support staff at 1(800)328-8251 if you have any other questions or needs.
