Flexio 590 Sprayer is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 117.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Performance I bought this to replace an Old Wagner Sprayer that I borrowed from my Dad, that of course failed after years and years of Service! The Performance was Excellent and made painting our 12' x 16' Deck including rails and steps a lot less time consuming. I suggest that you thoroughly Clean the Gun out after every use, especially with a quick setting paint such as a Water Based Latex! Pay very close attention on how the unit goes back together as well, making sure all pieces are snug and secure, but not too tight. If asked I will definitely tell my family & friends that this Sprayer is the one to buy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It got the job done but... I bought this unit to replace my power painter plus model 320 with the backpack tank for material. Preparing our home to put it on the market. I was a smoker and the ceiling was badly stained with nicotine. I had my 320 since 2003 but hadn’t used it in years. My plan was to spray the ceiling with Kiltz 2 latex using my 320. After all the prep was done I loaded my backpack tank and started priming the sprayer. That didn’t work out so well, the piston seized just as the material reached the new swirl valve and of course parts aren’t available in my little podunk town so it was time to shop for a new sprayer. The Wagner website is ok but could be a lot easier to use. My choice was the Flexio 2000 because of the ability to spray in an upward angle above 45 degrees. The podunk town factor limited me to the 590 so that’s why I’m here. I was concerned the Kiltz 2 was going to be a bit too thick to prime but it didn’t seem to ne a issue. The pattern was good and the volume of material was great. I was able to take my time and everything was working as I had hoped. As time went on the volume of material increased and could not be contrived by the adjusting knob. It didn’t have an effect in any position I tried. I was able to complete the project and it looks great but I had to work really fast in order to keep the material from being too heavy. There was more over spray than I’ve ever seen. I think the most of it came from the inability to spray at greater than the 45 degree limit. I was afraid to tilt it up too far because I didn’t want to damage the turbine and void the warranty. The picture of the lady painting her ceiling is misleading in my opinion. There should be a disclaimer large enough to notice that says not recommended for overhead use. I am satisfied with the finished project but it was a lot harder than it had to be. My old 320 would have knocked it out in less time and with less over spray. Wagner makes great painting products but it is very important to get the right one for the project at hand. 4 stars for the uses not being clear enough on the packaging. If I had not read the manual and information on the website I would have destroyed the sprayer and wasted 150 bucks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great with Ben Moore Advance! I bought this sprayer to refinish 35 painted cabinet faces in a large kitchen remodel. I already owned an HVLP sprayer that I was not happy with from another manufacturer. My intent was to use the Ben Moore water based Advance enamel, a product that I have had very good luck with in this type of project. Before unpacking my new sprayer I checked in with the help line at both Ben Moore and at Wagner. Ben Moore advised only to thin if absolutely necessary with water and then no more than 8 ounces per gallon. Wagner advised to set the blower up to full speed at 8. I then set out on my project. After a bit of trial and error I would like to share what I learned and how I obtained very good results with both the sprayer and the paint product. I fully diluted the paint with water as advised by Ben Moore and set the sprayer as advised by Wagner. I did all of my spraying with the door faces horizontal to avoid sagging. First of all, if you have never sprayed before you need to follow the instructions in the Wagner instructions about moving the sprayer evenly across the work. There are a couple of additional things that you need to consider. You need to start the sprayer off the work until the blower is up to speed otherwise the first spray out the sprayer spatters because the air is not up to the proper pressure. You can actually see this when you first hit the trigger. Keep the trigger down as you pass the sprayer back and forth across the work and you will avoid most spatters. Next, since the sprayer is only putting out a fine mist of paint you need to move the sprayer very slowly across the work in order to build up enough paint so that it levels as it dries. In the case of the Advance paint it means putting on a bunch of paint and you will be rewarded with a very smooth surface when it dries. It will not look smooth at first, actually a little bad, but give it forty five minutes to dry and the finish comes out very nice. Also note that I used the fine finish tip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small Jobs Use I bought this two years ago to paint my fence and did a great job. 150' x 2 sides x 6' high. I used it for two coats. The down sides. 1. Based on the description "suitable for large fence" I bought it. I had to constantly stop and refill the container. 2. The cleanup takes a long time, especially around the nozzle area

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great muti tasking paint sprayer We bought this paint sprayer for use with re staining concrete water fountains at our Nursery garden center. Twenty-four fountains later and still operates like new. Great for painting fences, stucco walls. Best thing about this kit is the two spray heads. The smaller size is great for smaller painting with finer nozzle control, while the larger head paints large surfaces quickly. Easy to clean and stores neatly in its heavy duty plastic case.

What’s the difference between this and the 3000 hvlp

Asked by: Aaron1990
We have updated the iSpray front end nozzle on the 3000 model. Fewer parts, easier adjustment and cleaning and a better spray pattern. Otherwise, they are just the same.

why does the pain continue to leak out the sprayer after you stop painting?

Asked by: DIYdebbie
First, make sure the nozzle is pushed all the way in and the retaining nut is tightened all the way down. Otherwise the needle will not reach the opening enough to stop the paint. Also, paint build up can cause the needle not to go all the way forward through the nozzle opening. Check the nozzle for build up inside the opening. Thinning the paint or using a paint flow conditioner can help keep the paint from drying inside the nozzle. Wiping the front of the nozzle here and there while spraying can help that situation as well. Can the 590 or 3000 be used for primer?  Or which model will handle primer and then paint best?

Asked by: Dan1972
The Flexio 3000 is the newest version of the 590. They will both handle primer and paints, the 3000 has a slightly improved nozzle. Easier to adjust and clean, better spray pattern. For more help call us at 800-328-8251.

what is the difference between a Flexio 3000 sprayer and a 590 unit?

Asked by: Bobbbb
The Flexio 3000 has two distinctions from the Flexio 590. It has the newest style I-Spray front end assembly that contains a redesigned nozzle head and flow control. One, the nozzle is more advanced to get a better spray pattern. Two, the flow control is in a more ergonomic position and is numbered now so it's easier to see and use.

Can I use this to paint cabinets inside, should I cover all counters and flooring?

Asked by: rxrech
The Flexio 590 comes with two separate spray heads which serve different purposes. The first is the iSpray Nozzle, which will spray unthinned materials including latex paint and is ideal for projects such as spraying walls, small buildings, fences etc.. and will provide a roller-like, or slightly stippled finish. The other is the Detail Finish Nozzle, which is best used on your fine finish projects such as spraying cabinets, furniture, doors, trim etc.. and will provide a smoother, finer finish than the iSpray Nozzle. Depending on your material, the Detail Finish Nozzle may require some thinning of your material in order to spray properly. The sprayer comes with a taping guide to help you make sure the room is properly masked in order to prevent overspray. The area should also be clean and free of dust in order to avoid blowing dust onto your freshly sprayed surface. I was starting to spray a a Latex Floor Paint with the Wagner 590 and it sprayed a little heavy and when I released the trigger it the paint just kept gushing out, why can you help me, please?

Asked by: Murphy
Sure, we can help. We ship every 590 with the nozzle slightly loose to prevent wear on the spring. There's an info sheet attached to the sprayer about it. Tighten the retaining ring on the front of the sprayer to bring the nozzle in contact with the needle and complete the seal. If that doesn't do it, give us a call at technical support 800-328-8251.
